义工团队要谨防魔障
Voluntary team should be cautious about the demonic obstacles
When the arrogance mind arises, it is prone to cause the demonic obstacles. These demonic obstacles include not only the heavenly demons but also the mind demons, and illness demon and other various demons. To avoid the demonic obstacles, you should finish the daily assignments of practice which I gave to you. First of all, recite the Shurangama Mantra every day. In monasteries, the monastics will not say a word entering the great hall after the morning washing and brushing. The first sentence they will say is "Namo Buddhas and Bodhisattvas in Shurangama Assembly", this is for the monastics. The leaders and volunteers of Zhengjue Monastery are required to recite the Shurangama Mantra, once every day must be accomplished. To avoid all kinds of demons and also protect your body health.
贡高我慢,障道造业
Self-superiority and arrogance obstruct the way and make us commit offenses
The dangerous problem of being volunteers is self-superiority and arrogance, once the self-arrogance arise, the people are likely to be possessed. They only think themselves are good, others are all bad. They look for others' shortcomings all day long but never take a look at themselves. Bossy and gossiping, make people cannot unite, full of vexations. They not only bring worries to themselves but also to others. As a consequence, they commit many offenses, the fire burns the forest of merits and virtues. We shall bear in mind, away from self-superiority and arrogance.
对义工工作不分别
Do not discriminate voluntary works
Enjoy doing the dirty work and tough work, and equally treat every kind of voluntary work. Only by maintaining this mental state is possible to explore the real meaning of “non-self “and helps to start off the real Buddhism practicing.
工作中面对意见的正确心态
The right attitude to face different opinions in work
It is inevitable for people to have different opinions at work. Even your own thoughts may contradict with each other between today and tomorrow and on specific issues. There also may be different opinions among volunteers and departments of the monastery. But the attitude that you hold is crucial. Listen to other people's opinions humbly, to improve our work, and do our work better.
